One of the great promises of network marketing — that you can build at once, and get paid forever. Of course, you have to pick the right company. Beware of “most exciting, best timing” company, is not the wisest choice. Because if it’s not going to be here 50 or 100 years from now, what’s the point of dedicating 4, 5, 6, 7 years of your life to building something that’s not going to be here. Just trashing your reputation, your community, and your network.

The different in direct selling company (Avon, Tupperware), is that in those companies you can have parties, you can sell products, you can build a customer base. But you cannot build a team of 5 or 10 generations that have 10,000, 20,000, 50,000 people on it, and then earn residual income for generations. In direct selling profession, we think the way we are going to grow our business is everybody gets more customers. But what’s the best way to get more customers?

That only happens in network marketing (Amway). Network marketing is a piece of the direct selling profession. It’s a feature really kind of designed by compensation.

The definition of a network marketing company is — everyone can build a sales organization from day one. EVERYONE. So, if I enroll you as a customer, you can actually moved from customer to distributor. Everyone can move from customer to customer to distributor and enroll other customers. So, if I enroll you as a customer, you tomorrow can enroll customers, and those customers can enroll customers the day after, or the hour after, or 5 minutes after they enroll.

Because of that rule you need to enroll people from day one, I mean everyone, that’s what creates the exponential growth of the sales organization.

Network marketing is a game changer for the direct selling profession, because how you grow sales is by sales people. If I own a direct selling company, and I want the most number of customers as a direct selling company. Well, I’m going to choose the network marketing model. Because the way I’m going to get the most customers is by getting the most distributors.

So, how Amway is still the number 1 seat in the direct selling industry? Well, they have millions and millions of customers. How did they get all those customers? By the distributors. How do you get the most customers? The way you get the most customers in direct selling is who has the most distributors. That is ONLY accomplished by a network marketing company.
