This is a real story about a father and 2 boys. It’s happening now in the world market. Inflation, prices go up, people struggling.
The father took 2 boys to the grocery store. On the way to the grocery store, they stop at a gasoline station.
“Wow! I’ve never seen gas prices so high! AWESOME!” said his oldest son.
Some of the other people at the pump looked over and stared. Some gave the boy the ‘evil eye.’
They headed to the grocery store.
“Wow!” The other boy exclaimed. “I’ve never seen food with such high prices! So cool!” He could not contain his happiness.
A woman stopped the father at the checkout counter.
“Excuse me” she said timidly, “I was at the gas station when that young man was so excited about the high price of gas. And now, here at the grocery store, this other young man was thrilled at the high price of food.” She looked up at the father and said, “I’m confused at their reactions, and yours quite frankly.” She did not sound judgemental but simply confused.
The father smiled and said proudly, “recently, they have set up a trading account and have begun their training with investing. The first son you pointed to bought shares in oil companies as his training taught him. My other son invested in food companies. Whenever they see the prices in those areas go up, they know that a little bit of money just entered their pocket.”
What did this story tell you?
Well, if you’re 100% consumer, and depends on salary/wage, you will definitely like this woman, CONFUSED. They are depressed, negative, some even hostile. 2 days ago, I was at my kids’ school to fetch them home. A young woman with a little kid walked cross the road, stare at me from the side to the front then to the side again, until she got in her car. And She started car hone to me. She was very depressed.
To me, to entrepreneurs, to business owners, to investors, we are very happy. Because we know we made money in this economy.
